Electromeet System Requirements


Windows® based computers:


Special Note for all Users. Check firewall access!

If you use an Access Key to launch the software then type your name in the dialog, Electromeet will launch. If your name then does not appear in the Participant Info window and the word "Offline" appears at far bottom left of your screen, chances are your firewall is blocking access to the required ports.See the Participant Guide in Help entitled “Optimizing Your Internet Connection”

Home and small office users may need to ensure that the Electromeet software is granted access to the internet. You would need to grant permission for the electromeet.exe program to have access through your firewall.

Participants and Presenters protected by a corporate network should consult with their IT department before proceeding to ensure that firewall access is enabled.

Your IT people may grant access through a proxy server. If that is an option, please go and see the instructions in the Participant Guide in Help entitled “Optimizing Your Internet Connection”.

System Prerequisites

Supported Operating Systems Microsoft® Windows 2000*, XP Home*, XP Pro*, 2003 Server*, Vista (32 bit versions)
Internet connection Basic: Reliable 56k dial up; Recommended: Cable modem, ISDN, DSL or better
System Requirements Minimum of Pentium® 400 MHz with 256 MB of RAM or more,  20MB hard disk space
Audio Requirements – For sound playback only Sound card with built-in PC speakers or plug in headphone set

Audio Requirements – For sound play back and speech requirements (recommended)

 - Sound card

- A simple, working headset with an attached microphone connected to your computer

A separate microphone with echo cancellation enabled via Windows control panel.

 

Note: In Windows XP, to test the audio settings, click Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices  >Voice >Test Hardware.

For Providers and Presenters

Browser for Session set up and management

Internet Explorer 5.0 or newer, Netscape 6.0 or newer or Mozilla Firefox 1.0 or newer

NOTE:

* Please note that your copy of Windows® will need the "Microsoft .NET Framework" option installed. Most recent Windows versions have this by default, but if you are not sure you may need to run Windows update or click here to download.
